UNILAB Crystal Microphone
UNILAB Crystal Microphone
Product code: E1010254
Product Description
Low Output Crystal Microphone by Unilab.
Two of these Crystal Microphones can be used with the Unilab Fast Timer (B8H28573) to carry out the Speed of Sound Practical.
The Microphone is not suitable by itself for producing a trace on an oscilloscope. In order to boost the signal so that a trace is seen, the Microphone must be connected to an Oscilloscope via a Power Amplifier (B8R07696 or similar).
- Fitted with 90cm screened flex and two 4mm plugs.
- Pack Size: each
- Key Stage 3 Physics - Waves: Sound needs a medium to travel, the speed of sound in air, in water, in solids. Pressure waves transferring energy; use for cleaning and physiotherapy by ultrasound; waves transferring information for conversion to electrical signals by microphone. Sound produced by vibrations of objects, in loudspeakers, detected by their effects on microphone diaphragm and the ear drum; sound waves are longitudinal
- Key Stage 4 Physics - Forces and Motion: Speed of sound, estimating speeds and accelerations in everyday contexts.
- Key Stage 4 Physics - Waves: Amplitude, wavelength, frequency, relating velocity to frequency and wavelength.
- A Power Amplifier is required in order to produce a trace on an oscilloscope with this microphone.
- An Amplified Microphone is also available.
