eisco Collisions Kit
eisco Collisions Kit
Product code: E1008454
Product Description
A simple and easy to use kit for work on momentum, collisions and the coefficient of restitution as well as conservation of energy.
The kit consists two bogies having one side with Hook & Loop pad and other side with spring.
The collision track measures 1.2M in length and is graduated.
It includes:
- A pair of support feet,
- 2 photogate support holders and rods (photogates are not included)
- Masses set of 50 g, 20 g and 10 g each.
Not for friction free work.
- Key Stage 3 Physics - Motion and Force: Opposing forces and equilibrium: weight held by stretched spring or supported on a compressed surface. Forces being needed to cause objects to stop or start moving, or to change their speed or direction of motion (qualitative only)
- Key Stage 4 Physics - Motion and Forces: Relate linear motion as observed from one moving vehicle to its observation from another moving relative to the first. Explain that force is rate of momentum change and explain the dangers caused by large decelerations and the forces involved. Recall and apply Newton’s Third Law both to equilibrium situations and to collision interactions and relate it to the conservation of momentum in collisions
- Add in a photogate system to quantitatively measure and calculate velocity.
